Better than original
The back where you put batteries in is better than the original design. Much easier to change batteries, and the back doesn’t come off when dropped. I did not have to program it, so unsure why it asks if it was easy to program. The only complaint I have is the buttons around the ok button on this replacement are rubber, and I’m used to the hard plastic ones on the original. Very POORLY DESIGNED Controller - VIZIO
This controller is VERY POORLY DESIGNED!!!! The buttons press on little bubbles over the contacts, but within two years the bubble coatings that insure contact get worn and so it will not activate. This forces actions such as pressing harder that just makes the wear worse. It NEEDS MUCH BETTER contact to insure the button is pushed. In addition, the buttons are so SMALL it is hard to press the right one unless held flat, with good light, and concentrating on the controller. The controller also has a VERY NARROW BEAM. This makes it very hard to determine if it is pointed at the receiver and all these problems compound each other making the controller very poorly designed. I would NOT recommend buying any VIZIO product that must use a controller until it is completely redesigned.This controller is VERY POORLY DESIGNED!!!! Vizio XRT136 Remote
New Vizio TV came with a less than satisfactory basic remote that couldn't access the TV settings and features. Ordered this one and it came VERY quickly! Put the batteries in and it worked like a charm. No programing to do just - just point and hit the buttons to access all TV features. Finally, I can get to the all the features without using the non functioning SmartCast app! Great replaement remote, but is easily broken.
It's exactly like the one the is broken. Which brings up the only negative point: The product is easy to break just by dropping it. Most of the time it's just the back that comes off and the batterys fall out, but some times the case comes apart.
