About this product

Product Information

A lackadaisical one-time golf pro, now operating a run-down driving range in Texas, gets his competitive juices flowing again when a slick former colleague shows up and asks him to be his--gasp!--caddie. Not only will the washed-up hacker not deign to be a caddie, he falls for and ultimately seduces the pro's beautiful psychologist girlfriend and launches a motivated bid for the U.S. Open. A winning comedy from the creator of "Bull Durham."

  • A Movie that makes you rethink.

This movie is fun to watch because it portrays a type of life that I think many of us fantasize about living. While we're caught up in the everyday rat race some people like Roy McAvoy (Costner) are living in a run down texas golf range that he barely owns and playing golf pro to get by. They're betting on insignificant things like which bug will get zapped in the zapper next and just taking life slow and easy. The movie will remind you that you can still rise from such mediocrity and achieve great things with the right motivation, but it also says that slowing down and enjoying life might be a lot more important than gaining material possessions.

  • Tin Cup (DVD, 1997)

Kind of a funky, and offbeat movie about a golf driving range pro (Kevin Costner) in a small West Texas town. He is one hell of a golfer and probably could have made it big on the PGA tour, but has a problem with immaturity and self discipline. He meets Rene Russo a psychiatrist who comes for lessons. Soon, he realizes that she is the girlfriend of his old time rival and arch-nemesis and successful pro golfer played by Don Johnson. He comes to see Kostner, who is known by all as "Tin Cup". Costner's caddy and partner is Cheech Marin. Johnson wants Kostner to caddy for him at his golf tournament. He needs the money so he agrees. But in the middle of the tournament, he does something stupid and embarrasses Johnson and is fired. He falls for Russo, and she starts giving him therapy for his ...

  • Tin Cup (1997,dvd)

Tin Cup is one of the best sports films ever made. However,I could see how someone might not like it,because they think golf is boring. I disagree with the thought of golf being boring, but everybody has a right to their opinion. The movie stars Kevin Costner,Rene Russo,Cheech Marin, and Don Johnson. Kevin Costner plays aging golf pro Roy Macvoy. He owns a run down driving range in the middle of nowhere. Roy is content in his life until he meets Molly played by Rene Russo. She wants a golf lesson because her boyfriend is a tour pro,and wouldn't you know her boyfriend David Simms an old competitor of Roy's. Don Johnson does an excellent job of conveying what a dirtbag this guy is. Therefore,Roy has to show Molly that he is as good as David by qualifying for the U.S. Open. Kevin Costner and ...

  • Good enough for $5 shipped

Already knew the movie was good. I'd describe the quality of the disk as "okay or good" but not "very good". Full screen side played just fone. But on the wide screen side seems like it has hairspray or something on it.
