The world is full of nasty little creatures that want to have your prized trees and shrubs for lunch. Thuricide HPC has worked great for me with Bag Bugs on my arborvitae to Gypsy Moth on Blue Spruce & Beech trees. Timing is most important and the trees need to be sprayed when the caterpillars are just hatching and still very tiny. I try to find egg clusters & bags when they are still dormant and place them in separate jars with lids and set them outside in a shady spot and watch for activity in the jars. Once I see that, it's time to spray. There are other products that work but are much more expensive. I have been using it for 5 years and give it an A+.
