It is not one of the typical Stine novels. So there is almost nothing supernatural or magic happening in this story. So it is rather a murder mystery than a spine-chiller or fantasy novel, as we know from R.L. Stine. However, it is thrilling from start to finish. For Mr Stine's young adult readers, it might be more appropriate than most of his other works. The story deals with a young girl who works as a lifeguard. During her first working days, several colleagues are found dead. There must be a serial killer somewhere around them. Every chapter has a different narrator who is telling the events from his point of view in the first person. This is helpful to get to know the characters. The language, which is sometimes colloquial, turns this book in a book which is easy to read. Altogether, this book is not always unputdownable, but it is well-suited for the holidays as a nice thrill.Read full review
