As expected, the inside of this SHARS chuck was filled with grinding grit & dust. It was necessary to TOTALLY disassemble the chuck, de-burr a couple of minor spots, wash it clean with degreaser then denatured alcohol. It was re-lubed & reassembled. Works beautifully. Nice chuck (providing you are willing to put in the time & effort to de-grit it. After all, it's NOT a $500 chuck, so don't expect it to arrive perfect.
