A couple notes, only mount one switch and led before installing in the puck hole once installed you can put the second switch in. You can not install with both switches mounted.Also a little more info on the instructions, they are very vague. I’m not a novice, but for someone that is may be doing some head scratching.

Bird 43 element power multiplier
I calibrated this unit using the X2 and X4 options since I use 25W and a 250W elements with one of my Bird 43 meters. The accuracy of the extended ranges is good. The PEP function is not as accurate as the one on the "official" Bird PEP kit - as confirmed by oscilloscope readings of PEP. I mounted the two switches on the top of the back cover and drilled a hole in the upper right corner of the front for the LED instead of using the slug hole piece. Big fingers and frequent use was the factor here. I ran the battery wires through the gray slug piece and zip-tied the battery to it externally to make battery replacement faster. This is a well made unit and worth more than the purchase price just for the range multiplier feature alone. Great concept, works, good value, but needs much better instructions.
The instructions are poorly written and need a rewrite to clarify a number of things. The plastic insert for the switches, is a great feature, however, the switches supplied won’t fit side by side as the holes are not spaced wide enough. You can make it work, but you will need to file the holes to move the switches outward. That makes it tough to mount the switches, which needs to happen BEFORE mounting the circuit board or you won’t be able to get the switches in place. The multiply switch has no indication of which side is up. So after wrestling with mounting them you have a 50/50 chance to get it correct. I didn't...so the calibration process was reversed. The kit works and is a good deal, compared to buying additional slugs. Good Product, Poor Instructions
The kit arrived quickly. Appears to be well made from a visual inspection. Installation into my Bird 43 watt meter took a little time due to the very bare bones instructions. I did not have to modify any parts to make it fit. Calibration was easy to accomplish and the kit does what it is advertised to do at a very reasonable price. Step by step installation instructions would make this kit a 5 star winner!The kit arrived quickly. Appears to be well made from a visual inspection. Works well- but switch placement was very tight
If you are looking for an easy to use PEP meter kit this is it. I bought it after looking at two YouTube videos by w2aew and breakerbroke23. It shipped very quickly and the board installed easily. The switches however were a little hard to align and secure in such a tight space. Instructions were very easy to follow. All adjustment screws were easy to access however, once installed, no adjustments were needed (presets were right on). The PEP function works as it should. The power LED makes it very easy to see the PEP function has been activated. Only Con: maybe include some two sided foam tape to secure the battery. All other parts were included. A little tricky to figure out the toggle switch functions because of the confusing written directions. The person who wrote the installation directions i'm sure is also the designer of the PEP kit. It's written more for those who have previous knowlege of its functions and design features. It should have been written with the intention that those installing it are seeing it for the very first time! (Example)When the directions say to install a switch in the "up" position but there is nothing on the switch that would indicate what position "up" is! LOL... Anyway, I installed the switches and wouldn't you know, it was up/side/down LOL....as it stayed. Great kit though and kinda fun to figure out and install.
