Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet the eternals tribute makers of every hard group of the 80´s should feel not very proud of this tribute to AEROSMITH because some years later they do a second tribute to the same band with better results in songs, arrangements and well-known musicians. In this 1999 tribute almost all the artists hears like the semipro local tribute band at the neighbourhood bar, that not sound so bad after you drank a couple of beers. The musicians of this record are people that not use to hear much of his music like Alber Lee(The Crickets, Everly Brothers), Blues Saraceno(Poison), Earl Slick(David Bowie band), Mickey Thomas(Starship), Fee Waybill(The Tubes), Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch(Tesla), Jeff Baxter(Steely Dan), etc. among others. The highlights of the cd are "Back In The Saddle" with Mark Slaughter(great voice), Albert Lee, Rudy Sarzo and Frankie Banali(the last 2 ex-Quiet Riot), "Chip Away At The Stone" with Vince Neil(Motley Crue), Blues Saraceno(Poison) and Pat Torpey(Mr. Big), this song fits like a made to measure suit to Neil´s voice and style and special mention deserves the superb version of "Dream On" performed by the man with the thunder voice the great Ronnie James Dio and guitar virtuoso Yngwie J. Malmsteen(you need have own this version in your collection in cd or in mp3) this song by it´s own deserves a extra star in this review. The bad of the record are the versions of "Rag Doll" by Ted Nuggent and "Walk This Way" with Fee Waybill(The Tubes) and Steve Lukather(Toto) that are being smashed by the performers, the other versions are nor good or bad. In short this cd contains not the best songs of the group and the voice of Steven Tyler is uncomparable, so this disc is only made to earn some bucks, so better listen whichever record of the real deal unless you are a hardcore fan and gotta have all related items of that great american band AEROSMITH.Read full review
