For years, this was the one missing link in my Mobile Fidelity Moody Blues collection -- the "classic 7" albums simply mattered more to me, and this title has usually been listed at utterly outrageous prices. But I always figured that the MOFI Ultradisc edition of Long Distance Voyager would be worth owning, and I was correct, and the price on this offering was right. As to the disc itself, the care with which this edition was mastered brings out a wealth of detail in the playing, singing, and arrangements that were lost on the original late 1980s CD and only hinted at in the original vinyl release. Evidently, none of the group's subsequent albums rated this kind of treatment, nor did its immediate predecessor, the star-crossed Octave album, but this iteration of Long Distance Voyager is as central to a collection of the group's work as any of the "classic 7" titles.Read full review
