There are a few things to be said about Fastway. Some were not real positive, coming from old Motorhead fans who didn't like Fast Eddie Clarke's new band or Jerry Shirley's detractors who preffered his work in Humble Pie.And then there's the "who played bass guitar" thing.Pete Way from UFO being the frontrunner in the early rumours. At the same time though there was the fact that undiscovered vocalist Dave King(who went on to make a great album as singer for Katmandu)was a strong performer who gave a solid groove for all these "old guys" to work off of.The comparisons to Robert Plant are valid but overstated. He had a strong personal sound I think was his alone.Just the energy and solid rock of this cd are enough to make it worthwhile. When reading the lyrics it seems somewhat offbeat, but they work well when heard in the actual flow of the songs."Say What You Will" was the only radio play off both of these albums, and was actually one of their weaker(but not bad)songs.I think there are many harder rockers on here.Although they are not like everyone else, their short career left two great hard rock albums and you can get them both affordably on this single disc. The second cd is fairly high priced on it's own,so this is a no-brainer.In my opinion the Fastway was the right way.Read full review
An essential 2-on-1 title of Fastway's first two lp's - their self-titled debut ('83) and it's stellar follow-up 'All Fired Up' ('84). As usual, tunes here to get you in the mood are "Easy Living", their first single "We Become One", "Steal The Show", "Tell Me" and "Stranger", Even better still - I've heard that Fastway has FINALLY reunited a couple of years ago with guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke as the sole original member. I've heard a live recording of one of the UK gigs they played and even though it's duration was short - the band still kicked total ass! Look around on Ebay enough and you'll find it. Likely a limited band-released CD.
Fastway's first two albums on CD, both are great ROCK and ROLL music, Eddy Clark with Dave King vocals gives two excellent 80's rock albums. Always loved say what you will, feel me touch me, Heft. Telephone, title track, just a few excellent songs. Highly recommend, R.I.P. EDDY

Bought it mainly Fastway S/T. I had the album back in the day and remembered how good it was. All Fired Up doesn't come close in my opinion, but has a couple of good tracks
