I forgot how good this CD was. It was one of my all time favorite albums/8 tracks back in the day. Now I can play it in the car and enjoy how good Foghat used to be. Now that I'm older, I love good blues music. When I was a teeneager, I didn't even know what blues music was. This band had a huge blues influence in its music and it really comes through in several of these tunes. I bought it just to listen mostly to Terraplane Blues but the other tunes are so strong, I don't skip over any of them. Fool For The City is one of the great classic tunes and one of the best air guitar songs of all time. It's just a fun CD to listen to. Brings back good memories. I miss ya Lonesome Dave and Rod. God Bless!
Foghat at their best. This and 'Foghat Live' are a great combination. If you didn't want their entire catalog and only wanted to get a few of their albums this 'Live' and 'Stone Blue' would be the ones to get. I always heard the live versions of some of the songs on this album on the radio back in the 70's like 'Slow Ride' and 'Fool For The City'. Hearing the studio versions makes me appreciate those 'hit' tunes even more. This is a classic album that easy and cheap to get vs. their other albums. If you never heard of them but love 70's style Rock and you buy this knowing little or nothing about the band or music you would love it. Trust me this Rocks!
Foghat is a great example of the ever-changing era which was the 70's. They were among the greats that emerged during a time where lousy country music was popping up and gave people a break from the redundant and a chance to listen to a great band with groove and exceptional talent.
one of those things from my youth that i had forgotten how much i loved until my teenage child listened to it. bizarre, this growing old sort of thing. good album, still.
