Glenn Hughes is an artist that really has never received much praise or recognition in America. Starting the band Trapeze in 1969, Glenn eventually became the bassist for Deep Purple and stayed with them throughout various lin up changes during most of the 1970's. Striking out on his own his first solo recording was issued in 1978 and since then he's created a dozen gems with almost no fan fair. In fact, most people under the age of 40 probably haven't ever heard of him, and I think that is a shame! "Songs in the Key of Rock" is yet another in a long line of exceptional, soulful but at the same time rockin' cd's that Glenn put his talent, his great bass skills and awesome voice to.
