BRMC is the best, unrecognized band today. Baby 81 solidifies this fact. Baby 81 turns up the rock-n-roll heat versus their last endeavor Howl. The two CD's combined show the bands full range to date. BRMC has heritage roots to other talented bands, which has helped them gel into the great band they are today. While enjoying this CD I can pick up many of their influences, such as their distortion-frenzied influence from the Jesus and Mary Chain, Zepplinesque hard-blues influence, melodic pop influences like The Verve, and a serious blend of classic folk and country. For a true music lover who's tired of the cookiecutter, radio-friendly blandness on the airways today, this band will turn you back on to the heart and soul of rock-n-roll. I highly recommed Howl as well, because it captures their versitility. In addition, BRMC is a fantastic live act. Their talent pours out live. Go see them!Read full review
This is a very good rock 'n roll album. Definitely one of the best so far this year! Much more edgy and electric than BRMC's last album (HOWL). It does slow down a little towards the end, but all the songs are really great. Recommended for any fan of the group or rock lover.
