This has to be one of the best rock albums I have ever owned. It is certainly my favourite live rock concert album. I bought this on vinyl years ago the morning after having seen the band for the first time live and seeing it listed on ebay in cd format brought a rush of nostalgia & adrenalin. If you're thinking of the the whistling & melody of 'Winds of Change' at the fall of the Berlin Wall type Scorpions, this is not it. That came later. This is the early band rockin' hard & rough Live in Tokyo, their first live performance outside Germany & before the time of recording videos in the USA. Its hard & fast, but with timely mellow bits. A live recording can never be as well produced as a studio album & many fail here because the do not compensate for this by capturing any excitement. Not so this album. Excellent from start to finish I would recommend to any rock fan to have this album on loud & uninterrupted, to listen to the breathtaking 'Fly To The Rainbow', etc and just thoroughly enjoy!Read full review
THIS ALBUM BY SCORPIONS IS A QUALITY RECORDING,THE SONGS ON THE CD ARE PROBALY SOME OF THE BEST THEY'VE DONE TRACKS LIKE 'IN TRANCE' 'STEAM ROCK FEVER' & 'DARK LADY'. ALL IN ALL THIS CD IS ABSOLUTE QUALITY 10/10.
Another superb classic rock live album from the seventies..A great example of why the Scorpions were the best thing to come out of Germany in that era; and also competed with established British and Us acts to generate good volume album sales... AS the title suggests they were also very popular in the far east. This collection of live songs is a good example of their work at the time and still sounds fresh 30 years later, especially if you get this re-mastered version, where the difference in sound is obvious.
