Toto's first album TOTO is an often overlooked and under appreciated piece of work. It is also hard to find on cd. I bought the album back in the 80's. When cds replaced albums I set out to replace most of my albums alongside of new cd acquisitions as well. TOTO was one of the must haves on my list. TOTO satisfies me on several levels. Each song is different but the album blends well. From dead on vocals to crisp guitar licks, fast hard tempo to slower more melodic rhythms it is a great listening experience. "I'll supply the Love", "Georgy Porgy", "Girl Goodbye", "Rock Maker", and "Hold the line", are the hits from this album, but "Childs Anthem", "Manuela Run", "You are the flower", "Takin' it back", and "Angela" are great cuts also. TOTO was released in 1978. As music trends continue to change TOTO loses none of it's appeal. I recommend TOTO highly to anyone interested in Rock music at its finest.Read full review
I had great memories of this album from my early teen years. I am absolutely loving getting reaquainted with it all over again. There is nothing not to like and I got it for $6.00.
Toto is the first studio album by the American band Toto. It was released in 1978 and includes the hit singles "Hold the Line", "I'll Supply the Love" and "Georgy Porgy", all three of which made it into the top 50 in the USA.[1] "Hold the Line" spent six weeks in the Top 10, and reached number 14 in the UK as well.[2] Although not initially very well received by critics, the band quickly gained a following,[3] and the album gained a reputation for its characteristic sound, mixing soft pop with both synth and hard rock elements. The band would venture deeper into hard rock territory on their next album.
