1995. A year mired in grunge-metal bands who all sounded the same. Then along came Gov't Mule with this debut release and suddenly playing hard rockin' blues began to be cool once again. The legacy of this band goes all the way back into the late 60's early 70's Allman Brothers band style (original band member Warren Hayes on guitar) then leaping forward through time and space he helped to form such an influencial, unique, Southern-tinged, bluesy yet rockin' styled band that is still "kickin'" to this day! If your a Mule fan then this is the one that started it all, and its a must own. Or...If you love good bluesy rock inspired guitar with great storytelling songwriting then your gonna want a copy of this too.
Warren Haynes voice has remained consistant through out his years singing. This being one of his early CD's shows just how consistant he can be. and explains why he is so much in demand.
Forgot how good this album was.

Excellent 1st album for anybody. Warren & Co. rocks for real on this one. Still bitter, wanna smooth it a little? Get this one!
Fell in love with Warren Haynes's voice the minute that I heard it. And the instrumentation is fantastic. the guys came out of the early Allman Bros. band, and really did it up right. Haynes is a genius, as a writer.
