This is a very good way to get the entire Mercury Records run by this legendary all-female rock band on CD. Are these the best sounding digital versions of these releases? No but they are quite good. For the first two studio albums I prefer the 1st Japanese CD pressing from 1988 [33PD-423] which has both the debut and Queens of Noise on one disc. For Live in Japan I prefer the Japanese 1st CD pressing [PHCR-4175 ] from 1993. Waiting For The Night in my opinion sounds better here than on the Cherry Red CD plus here Joan's raspberry into the mic at the beginning of Gotta Get Out Tonight is intact. It was accidentally removed from the Cherry Red disc supposedly because the mastering engineer thought it was distortion. There is some compression on this set but it's nonetheless very good in terms of sound quality/mastering.Read full review

being an avid (or rabid) runaways fan, i really dug this compilation cd. it is worth the money for any lover of the band or lover of real music played back in the day with real instruments and real vocals (no auto-tone here)
I watched the Runaways last week coz I'm a Joan Jett Fan. After watching the movie, I wanted to listen to some Runaways music. This CD has all of their songs and this CD absolutely rocks. All of the songs were fabulous and the price was great. All the songs in this CD could be captured in 4 different Runaways albums and I was lucky to get it in one.
great album
