Have loved this since it came out.

I have wore this out many times listening to the old original. Very powerful and heavy IMO. It does sound different than the original and the song order is edited. i love the extra songs! The guitar seems louder but that's fine. Overall it's still live Zeppelin so I'll take it since I will never get to see or hear them live any other way.

Bonus material makes this tolerable, otherwise one of the worst movies ever.

Okay, let me start by saying I am VERY biased, sine I am a HUGE led Zeppelin fan. I remember seeing this at the theaters in 1976 when it first came out.....I could not wait! My friends who were not huge zep fans came with me, getting tired of hearing me gush about how great this was gonna be. Long story short, it was the longest movie I ever sat thru and I was embarrassed by it. The music was great, the performances were great, it was those "fantasy" scenes that were just stupid and incoherent. When the reissue came out 40 years later I ignored it, even tho I buy everything zeppelin. Just rectified that and picked this up. The movie has not changed. I suffered through it a second time. My gosh this isnt just terrible, its excruciatingly painful to watch. I would rate it a 1. But then I ...

  • I'm confused here...

I used to love this disc but I'm really confused as to why Jimmy Page released this new, altered version. I was very excited to learn that there was a new, remastered edition and was happy to see that some of my favorite performances from the film were now a part of the new cd; such as "bring it on home" and "since i've been loving you" (which i always wished would've been part of the original soundtrack). so, i jumped on eBay and purchased this copy. When it came, I popped it into the cd player and heard some of the strangest edits ever....they sounded so confusing that I had to restart the songs to see if what I was hearing was actually happening. Some of the solo's were altered from the originals and it seems like entire sections of songs/solo's were so badly spliced that you could ...

  • Mixed Bag

This album has long been a thorn in the side of Led Zeppelin, receiving mixed reviews ( some great, some extremely poor )throught it's lifetime and it is easily the weakest link in the chain of releases. As a Zep fan, I was glad they FINALLY remastared and released this. However, as as 20 year+ bass player, I'm HORRIFIED at the remastering job. I know there's a bass player playing on here ( and a bass drum now to think of it ). Where are they? Bonham's tom toms are so deep that I guess the mixers were afraid to add the bass/bass drum into the sound. They DO make their appearance in places, but for the most part I found myself dumbfounded and frustrated at this mix, which greatly distracted me from enjoying all of the new songs that have been added to this cd. I do love how human this ...

  • Presenting the mighty Led Zeppelin

The Zep at their best. They did 168 shows in 9 months and these Madison Square Garden one's were the end of the tour. Saw them on the first leg of it in L.A. Most bands were not as good live as in the studio , these guys were better and no back up singers , recorders or players behind a curtain it was just the 4 of them. Best live band that ever drew a breath. Also available on blue ray DVD.
