If you like Mark IV of Deep Purple (the version with Tommy Bolin on guitar), you will enjoy this live album. It covers much of the same material as the sets recorded in Japan during the same period (also available on cd as "This Time Around,") but with perhaps a little more energy and drive. Fans of Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale will enjoy the material from the "Come Taste the Band" album which is primarily featured here, along with a few numbers from previous albums.
I really don't know what the fuss was all about. The originals with Tommy Bolin (from Come Taste The Band) are very good but as far as the rest of it...miss Blackmore. Obviously a huge difference without him. Sounds like Hughes and Coverdale's voices were straining but still pretty nice piece of history from 1976 for sure. There are some gems in here for sure but for classic Deep Purple cuts Bolin just didn't cut it on this recording.
Great Collection of Bee Gees music!
