This is without a doubt Red Rider's greatest album, a seething blend of pop and ideas that shows off Tom Cochrane's songwriting skills before he abandoned new wave urgency in search of AOR hooks. Naturally, this album did only so-so in the states, but the pulsing beat of "Human Race" makes for as hugely compelling a three minute song as you're likely to find, and "(Crack the Sky) Breakaway" and "Napoleon Sheds His Skin" highlight Cochrane's ability to combine a sense of loneliness with an off-beat literacy. This CD version also includes their big radio hit, ""Lunatic Fringe," a prescient theme song that could have been dedicated to the first decade of the 21st century.
Because it's the best of their music.

In my opinion this is Red Rider's best album. I used to have this on vinyl back in the day but it saw one too many parties. I really enjoy all of the Tom Cochrane/Red Rider library but this one has a special place in my memory. Just a great collection of songs.
Just like the place for old music.
