One eskimO self titled One eskimO The music on this cd is breathy, laid back, simple, and sultry, all in one. The song Hometime, when I play it, freaks out one of my cats! She starts crying, then jumps around. The song Kandi, is my favorite. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a good song. Then I watched the season finale of the tv show Bones, and I fell in love with it! At the end of the show, it showed Bones & Sealy saying goodbye for a year. They looked into the others eyes, and you can hear the song in the background. You think that they will finally kiss, but they do not. I hit the dvr several times just to listen to the song, then realized I had heard it before. It was in my stereo waiting to e reviewed! And yes, I did receive the cd at no cost to review. So when you listen to the cd, play it a few times, and give it a chance! The band has been on the Ellen show, the song Hometime was in a Toyota commercial, and the song Kandi, is a #1 radio hit song! So I’m sure they will be around for a long time, and I look forward to hearing much more from them!Read full review
I first heard this British group on a one-click preview and started searching the net to find other songs. It was extremely difficult to find their music because their music is so technical and so perfected, there are few songs available. I love this group and five of the ten songs on this CD are 5-star. If you get a chance, see the music video for Kandi, and take the search for Little Feather via their website offshoot. A wonderful and talented group.
The sound of these relatively newcomers is a welcome relief from the top 10 repeat songs on the day-to-day hit parade. The voices are clear and distinct while the accompanyments are rich and fresh. One Eskimo has a great sound that appeals to all. I especially liked the unexpected version of Kandi in remaks/dance mode. Sophisticated yet earthy- In a word... Cool. BKM
It is one of the most underrated musicians and play excellent music. This CD is fantastic very well made, I don't think there is not even one song in it that I don't like so thats why I like it. Thank you
I was disappointed in the cd because it was a "promotional cd, not for resale", so it felt inappropriate that it was resold to me. Also, because of that, when I loaded it into my itunes, it could not be named, so it shows up as unknown artist. I think I should have been informed that it was not a published cd, but a promotional cd.
