This was the last "old Chicago" album of the Tier 2 variety (Tier 1 included the original line-up until Terry Kath's death after Chicago XI). These albums (including this one) were mostly of the "forgettable" variety, and although there are some good tracks on this album, you can tell that they were desparate for a "radio hit" and were writing to far for the radio-friendly format, rather than their heretofore successful "jam session" style. Since the next album was a Greatest Hits, it would be their next album of new material that would launch them into megastardom (and as a Peter Cetera-led Las Vegas lounge act of Ballads, and limited musical maturity). This album, even with the bonus tracks, is only of interest to the die-hard Chicago fan, and the casual listener should give this one a miss!Read full review
