Badlands were a very good live band fueled by two great rock talents of their guitarist Jake E.Lee and singer Ray Gillen . Excellent musicianship and exciting rock arrangements which is also evident on this cd, great stuff but can you hum any of their songs? In my opinion they always lacked that extra magic element needed in great songwriting that bands from the era before 80's metal definitely had plenty of; you can easily remember songs by Deep Purple, Grand Funk, Sabbath or Budgie; not so easy with songs by Badlands. Even with this partial criticism Dusk by badlands is a very good cd and fans of hair metal might find it even excellent but there are plenty of better writters; still I would love to see these guys live in concert even though it's impossible......
With the passing of Ray Gillian, this a great last effort!! It's a perfect 3rd album for a great band!!

Good effort by Jake E. Lee, Greg Chaisson, Jeff Martin, and the late, great Ray Gillen. Very bluesy rock album from a very underrated band. Rare find, as with the preceding two Badlands releases. All three out of print and becoming increasingly hard to find. If you get the chance, pick this one up. Worth every penny.
This is a Great Hidden Gem.. This recording Holds its Own against The debut release, and Voodoo... Though its a Bit more Bluesy.. That's NOT a bad thing.. Dusk Is such a Strong Stand alone recording, It doesn't matter if your a Long Time Fan Of Badlands.. Or are just now discovering them. You cant go wrong. Ray's Voice, and Jake's Guitar Scream ! Spend a few Bucks and Pick up a copy of this Disk.. You'll Be glad you did !
