As a huge Alter Bridge fan who had never heard of Myles Kennedy before he became lead singer i recently heard several songs off this album by 'The Mayfield Four' of whom i had also never heard of. This album isn't as hard rock as Alter Bridge is but you can see where the influence for songs like, 'Brand new start' and 'Buried Alive' come from of The 'Blackbird' album. Also Kennedy's voice doesn't quite hit all the ranges and tempo's he hits with Alter Bridge but he still shows how poerful his voice is. 'Second Skin' possess some excellent and original songs such as 'White Flag', 'Summergirl' and 'Mars Hotel'. There is a spiritual feel to certai songs in the album whilst also there are a few profanities which i was quite suprised at regarding there are none in any 'Alter Bridge' songs as far as i know(please forgive me for the constant 'Alter Bridge' comparisons but they're how i came to know 'The Mayfield Four' through Myles) Though not as hard rock and obviously the band doesn't possess the talent of Mark tremonti on guitar i would recommend this album for any Alter Bridge fans as we all know the evolution of the Creed members in the band i think it's very much worth listening to Myles at his earlier stage in his musical, lyrical and guitar playing evolution. I bought this because I love Myles Kennedy's voice. Now the lead singer for Alter Bridge, his voice shines even brighter and better in Mayfield Four. He sings with such passion and emotion, something that is not as prevalent in Alter Bridge's music. It is definitely a must have for Alter Bridge fans, but more so for Myles Kennedy fans. Also wonderful is Mayfield Four's Fallout CD.
