I liked the idea that the CD has a mix of old familiar lullabies and a few less common ones. We had never purchased a Disney music CD before. I thought the vocals were very typical of a Disney quality "musical". There is one man and one woman that really shine through when you first listen through all of the songs. The very first song IS apparently by a recording artist through Atlantic Records and you can tell right away that his voice has the special nuances that companies would look for. He sang first song "When You Wish Upon A Star". No other singers are identified but there is one woman's voice who consistently renders a soothing calming lullaby style. She sings the second song "Baby Mine" and she sounds a little like Amy Grant-possibly to give you a comparison. Other singers are nice but not as consistently gentle "hushed" when you consider this is for the purpose of "lulling" to sleep. They seem to want to reach their notes. Really the CD as a whole would make nice listening to and playroom music more so than for lullaby. The instrumentals should have been more similar in my opinion. The guitar picking can sound a little sharp. All should be soft. A few songs have a country twang that does not compliment the selected arrangements. A few songs are a little too fast and sometimes the vocals come across too strong with some of the high notes almost sounding piercing-not restful. I feel the pace of the entire CD should have been set by the first two songs which had pleasant "hushed" singing and if anything else it should then get slower and slower to the end where nodding off should occur if not already. The song "Fast Asleep" has a pretty quick tempo and it is right in the middle of the CD and baby might just want to get up and play-the lyrics are darling and the woman's singing is lovely but it should be a very slowly sung song and only at its very end is it at the right pace! It was a cute and "hoppy-jumpy" like a frog sounding song! You will see when you listen. "Rockabye Baby" is a little bit country and again-slow it down please! "Sleep Daddy Sleep" performed by a young child is the SWEETEST song ever!!!! BUY this CD just to hear that! You will love it! I would have made that the first song as the child sings that... he can't wait to GO to sleep! "Ho Hum" song has weird music like a faucet drip that could disturb baby. Next "Countin' Sheep" seems like another "play" song. Parents and children can enjoy this CD as it does have high Disney quality-I just "Wish Upon A Star" that this Lullaby CD was much better for the intended purpose of inducing sleep and gentle calmness. All of the songs are special but some just do not belong on the same CD. And some songs play the "music louder" some songs play the "vocals louder" which has to do with the "mixing" balance. You don't want baby to startle as the song changes. There is no transition but blank space exists between each song. Should have been a nice fade in fade out to the melodies. Maybe there should be a general public "review" prior to production so the kinks could be altered and a more perfected recording could result!!-(SMILE)"Nighty Night" should have been the last song-but that is also an editing decision and I was not consulted. The last song sounds like a Linda Ronstandt with odd guitar chord. Well-the price was "perfect" even though the CD itself misses that rating!Read full review

I owned this CD, (earlier version) when my daughter was born, she is now 22. We listened to it every night, Mom or Dad rocking her to sleep. Her favorite song was Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It is her cell phone ring-tone now. She wants the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow to be played at her wedding reception for the Father Daughter dance. ♥ I bought this for a friend I met on ebay, she has told me her newborn is soothed by it.
From my childrens's childhood now they are having babies and good memories with these CD's
