A great album made up of all the best songs, not much else to say really. I need to write more... Well it's great, and there was that one sond used in the soundtrack to the one good film in the Matrix trilogy as well as used in Gamer, I mean how awesome is that
If angry lyrics, driving bass lines and general contempt for the world and those in it is your thing, this may well be the album for you. I bought this for one song, a cover of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus, and it stayed in my car's CD player for several weeks. It is now one of my favourite albums. If you can see past the fact that Marilyn Manson is a professional oddball, there is a lot to like.
I recently watched a DVD of a Marilyn Manson concert, live from Germany and was shocked and knocked out at the same time. I knew a little about him already and, even though the visuals are half the enjoyment with Manson, I still wanted to have a CD of his music to listen to and investigate further, at times when I couldn't actually stop and watch a DVD. To me, his music stands out of the ordinary and appeals to the rebellious side of my nature! I thoroughly enjoyed the CD and have listened to it several times, but you do have to be in the right mood, as it is so enthralling, you have to give it all your attention - I might as well have bought a DVD really! His music and lyrics and style take you into another world, where he batters you about, pushes images to maximum and then leaves you reeling, but very fulfilled - very well worth a listen! Manson's "Sweet Dreams are Made of This" is a particularly stunning version of the song and will never sound the same, or as good, being sung by anyone else! I still have a lot to get out of this actual CD, but can see myself buying another one at some stage and probably a DVD of a live concert. I would definately buy on ebay again, as there was a large selection of his work on ebay and I would be happy to buy again from the same supplier.Read full review
Im a big fan of Marilyn Manson and this album has some grat tracks on it including some cover versions of other artists that are very well done. If you like this style of music its a must have in your collection.
This album will give you a good insight into this intriguing and very talented performer, this music is not for fuddy duddies or the easily offended. But it is well crafted aggressive and in your face, Manson does not shirk from any of the issues and complexities of modern life. I would say if you are easily shocked or offended then it's not for you, but in truth I must say if you can be shocked at all by sexual deviance, foul language, drug abuse and violence in lyrics then it is probably not a good record for you, although in my opinion you REALLY NEED IT!
