I'm giving this an "excellent" rating, even though I haven't been able to listen to the CD al the way through. This is because, at some point, I fall asleep. The music, pleasant enough, is the typical synthesized New Age stuff. It is the underlying "pulses" that are credited with the induction of sleep. I have gotten the same results with Irish harp music, or, indeed, any melodic, peaceful music. After listening to this CD, I have to say I experienced a very deep and dreamless sleep. The one negative is that I sleep on my side, and find that the headphones, or earbuds are somewhat uncomfortable. I might try a conventional stereo, but that's an issue to be worked out with my wife. Bottom line, useful for the occasional night you have trouble quieting your thoughts enough to fall asleep easily on your own. And it certainly is cheap enough. Give it a try.Read full review
I usually don't buy sleep aids, even non-medical ones, but the price was so nice I figured it would relax me at the very least. To my surprise, I find myself falling asleep before the CD gets halfway thru and I wake up refreshed and in a better mood. Of course it could be coincidence, but since I've used the CD I fall asleep faster and never seem to wake up in the middle of the night.
I bought this CD to help me relax and unwind while laying in bed, ready to go to sleep. It must work well, I don't think I've made it past the 2nd song on the CD!! I'm usually out like a light at some point during the 1st song! One of these days, I'll start from song 3 or 4, just to hear what they are like. Very relaxing CD.
I am a massage therapist and played it for a client yesterday and he fell asleep during the massage. He is usually quite the talker... It works!
My mother-n-law has this for herself. I found that it helps my 4 year old son stop thinking about things so he can take his nap. I put it on an IPOD so it can loop while he is sleeping.
