This is the first Leppard album following the death of the great Steve Clarke. If you like Def Leppard at their 'Big Stadium Sounding' best then this is for you, and in my opinion is a worthy follow up to 1987's 'Hysteria'. Massive songs such as 'Lets Get Rocked', 'Make Love Like A Man', and 'Heaven Is..' are just a taster of whats to come on the first listen. 'White Lightening' is a fitting tribute to Steve Clarke. With such gems as 'Personal Property' and other belting tunes, this is well worth checking out. I bought this cd to replace my worn out cassette and now its time to wear the CD out!!!!
I love Def Leppard and this was another excellent album of theirs that although was let heavy than most of their work, had all the trademark Def Leppard vibes. Look out especially for the track:White Lightning and its various riffs and choruses, along with an amazing solo part.
This one is best enjoyed at full volume! Spandex on taught thighs, belt sized mini skirts, blacker-than-black eye liner and hickeys that tasted of hair spray. This is 80's butt rock at it's finest! Remind yourself of what you were rebelling against when you first heard it and succumb to the kind of living-room air guitar that will embarrass the kids. OK so a few of the lyrics have not aged as well as others but will it really matter when in the through's of head banging your partner stops to lip sync " I suppose a ROCKS out of the question?" Hooray for hedonism!
A gr8 cd to listen to. Possibly one of the bands better albums to listen to. But not as good as being at one of the bands gigs.
Def Leppards 5th album and another good all rounder. Typical Def Leppard, good guitar riffs and great vocals. Even if it failed to live up to the previous album (Hysteria) this is still Def Leppard at the top of there game. A must have in any rock collection. 8.5/10
