A friend played this all-instrumental CD for me a few months back and I was floored. Blues Saraceno has tone, speed, finesse, and style. Traces of Vai, Satriani, and maybe even a little Hendrix, but Blues can do it all in his own style. Even though this album was recorded in '92 (at the end of the 80's hair metal era?) it holds up strong with anything coming out today. My only complaint is that with 11 songs, and the longest one clocking in at only 4 and a half minutes, this CD is TOO SHORT. Blues leaves you wanting much more. Find it, Buy it, Play it, Love it.
Quite frankly, this guy should've been HUGE. Like the more popular Joe Satriani and Gary Hoey, Saraceno wails on each blues-based metal instrumental. His phrasing is as incredible as his tone. Fans of Satriani, Vai,Hoey, Greg Howe, and Vinnie Moore would do well to give this shredder extrodinaire a listen.
