After losing most of my record collection while storing my things in a badly constructed storage locker, I was so happy to be able to buy this CD and relive all the wonderful times I had this playing while playing backgammon, driving, resting, reading, etc. I will always consider this one of my all-time favorite records!

This debut album may arguably had the worst cover art ever (displaying all it's facial limitations starkly ) that without hearing anybody what was held inside would have had most record aficianados snub a chance of a listen. But how they would have been be dismayed they shunned it altogether ! I have a history of being a hippie art appreciator, the handbills, the posters , the art transferred onto albums..... and even hippie sheets ! ( as per Peter Max ) . The careful balance of stylish lettering accentuating the graphics was all an inherent part of the experience of living the free spirit trip. The effect of the artwork was to sense what a high it would be to share in the music ( or in the sheets of a rebellious but revolutionary era. And man, did l get experienced as l stepped into the psychoactive tripfantasies of my generation. Following in the later stages was this sleeper album. Difficult to get lost into the cover art while absorbing the music, almost to the point of stark contradiction . This was Phoebe Snow's first music offering and it was most suprisingly, instantaneously of the same caliber of those balladeers that rocked the ages with sweet emotion, folk and blues balladeers like Bonnie Raitt, Jim Croche, Maria Muldaur Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Don McClean, even B.B.King. The genuine heartfelt lyrics , the suberb workmanship on guitar was beyond question confident and uniquely her own origin but with a flourish of all the familiar musical influences that are contemporary favorites . Instant classic written all over it and when the jocks caught on it was alll over the airwaves dominating them like a football player on steroids. Don' t let me dissaude you but you will have to trust me on this one, you younger musical aficianados. Old doesn't mean dead, sometimes it just means aged to perfection -- and this album has aged well against all comers........Read full review

Fantastic Jazz album by a master musician. Just beautiful music by top notch jazz musicians. She does write most of her own material and has such great control of her voice.

The smooth voice of Phoebe Snow and the range she professeses in her vocals will be music to your ears. This CD has three of her long time hits, Poetry Man, Either or Both, I wish I was a Willow. The songs are love songs which she combines both pop and a type of gospel all coupled together
Pheobe Snow. What an incredible artist/voice. This CD is packed with great tunes, including her classic hit, "Poetry Man." Perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable listen.
