I was looking forward to getting the new Dirty Looks "Gasoline" CD, but after receiving it and giving it a good listen, I was sadly disappointed. Everyone who said, "They picked up right where they left off.", were somewhat right. This "album is no "Cool from the Wire" or "Turn of the Screw". I expected to get at least two dynamite songs from the "album", but was disappointed with the lack of hearing a major quantum leap of the guitar player getting better, having 10+ years of lead time. Also, the production of the album wasn't up to my standards. It was a bit garbled. Although I personally never felt that Dirty Looks was an ACDC knock-off band or a B-Stock clone, I would definitely borrow this "album" from a buddy (or in my case, their next one) before I'd shell out (anymore) money to buy it. I would still recommend everyone who likes the Hard-Rock Genre to go see them in concert.Read full review
i love dirty looks music.i've been a huge fan for a lot of years.i have seen them perform at the old hammerjacks back in the "80"s.i love thier style of rock in the vein of ac/dc and kix.all thier releases are dynamic classics from cool to the wire to the rip it up cd.but thier newest release gasoline is really a great cd.all the songs kick serious ass,and it rocks.2nd chance (didn't take it)is without a doubt the best track on the cd.in fact the entire album is indeed a future classic.especially the following songs doesn't count the juice, stick around, and wake the sky.if you or anyone don't have this cd go get it.it may not be around much longer.
A solid release sonically like California free ride and super deluxe.
