My favorite song on this cd is "Brickyard Road" because of the message or meaning the song has behind it. Beautifully written, and will be the one of the favorites of all the Southern Rock music I listen to. I bought it after looking for it everywhere else for several years. I grew up listening to Lynrd Skynrd, and knew about the plane crash in 1977 that killed several of the original band members including Ronnie Van Zant. I knew the song Brickyard Road talked about the Van Zant brothers before the plane crash, and life afterward with one brother gone. I am just very glad that I managed to find the cd on ebay, and able to purchase it at a very reasonable price.
I bought this CD because I purchased the cassette tape when it was first released and it finally died. I love Johnny Van Zant's vocals. I am moved and deeply touched by Brickyard Road as he talks to his brother Ronnie about the daughter and parents he left behind. I grew up on Southern Rock - being born and raised in west central rural Florida. This is my kind of music and I am grateful I was able to replace the worn out tape with a new CD. I wish I would hear more music from Johnny and the boys.
