This album brings together ALL of Slade's numerous hits on one album for the first time, although there have been many compilations over the years. What's remarkable about the album is,if you are like me,you will have forgotten just how good this band was until you listen to it. We can all remember the big number one singles such as Merry Xmas Everybody and Cum on feel the noize, but what about the lesser known tracks like "all join hands",Myzsterious mister jones",and "radio wall of sound". Slade changed there sound on many occasions, from a psychedelic rock start, then onto a glam thumping rock sound then midway through the 70s a more American rock sound was introduced, then afer the Punk explosion back to a hard rock sound that stole the Reading festival. This album has it all and if you are like me will want to go out and buy the dvd aswell. To sum up this album is a fine example of a band at the height of there powers with a lead singer-SIR NODDY HOLDER,whom has a voice to die for- BRILLIANTRead full review
There have been some Slade compilations over the years, but all of them lacked a hit or two. This one, from Universal, brings for the first time all the hits, plus their less successful singles together and that what makes it the most comprehensive compilation of Slade singles so far. Unfortunately, the manufacturer didn't tried so hard to remaster the tracks, but the sound doen't lack either in comparison to previous hits collections. When listening to the cd's be prepared to a lot of noise - that's what Slade is (almost) all about!!!
