I'm usually disappointed by recent albums from bands that were at their peak in the 1970's - simply copying things they did better many years ago. But this album by Italian Prog-rockers PFM was a breath of fresh air. Only two of the 1970's line-up remain, plus a violinist who's been with them since about 1980. But the new guitarist and keyboard player bring an injection of new talent. The instrumentation is noticeably PFM but the overall feel of the album is different - more upbeat and positive than much of their previous material. Out of their previous albums, this reminds me most of Chocolate Kings, or even the albums by Acqua Fragile (Franz Di Cioccio even sounds like Bernardo Lanzetti). And to add to the fun, you get two albums - one Italian, one English. As was usually the case with PFM's lyrics, the Italian and English versions are completely different, not just a translation - same tune, but different meaning.Read full review
