This music is good, it really does carry the Boston "sound" but it is actually my least favorite of Boston's original recordings. The beginning starts out really nice, the medley really works for me then the last couple songs really drop off and seem like they were made as filler to get enough material to make the record label happy with a release. I've been listening to Boston since the late 1970's so I may also just be jaded because of the first 3 from the band were so melodic and stout both lyrically and musically because of this history. I actually think that "Corporate America" is far superior to "Walk On" as the last two official Boston releases but saying that I still think it's a decent cd with lots to like, plenty of great guitar work and has an "easy listening" quality that still makes it worth owning...saying that I want to caution the casual listener, or the fan that may have recently decided that they like the band because of some of the 70's & 80's hits that they've heard on FM radio, this release is really nothing like that so buyer beware...if your looking for tunes like "More than a feeling" or "Smokin'" then you may end up feeling 'smoked' with the 'lack of a feeling' that this 1994 release will leave you with.Read full review
This is a 1994 record. The quality of material is great due to Tom Schultz's production and musicianship. The missing link is Brad Delp. The previous Boston CDs all featured Brad's amazing vocals. While the 3 singers on this record are good. I miss Brad. I still recommend the record."I NEED YOUR LOVE" is the standout track on this record. I will take my Boston anyway I can.Boston

The album starts with a bang on I Need Your Love and keeps up the pace on Surrender to Me before the 12+ minute Walk On medley begins. Perhaps my lone complaint about this album was that Walk On was broken up into 4 tracks on the CD. None of the 4 tracks can stand on their own given the flow of the medley, I'd rather Scholz had made Walk On a single 12+ minute track. He still could have listed the different parts on the CD sleeve or in the liner notes. On some CD players the transition from track to track is rather seamless, but on others there can be a slight "hiccup" between each track that is somewhat jarring in an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable piece. Following Walk On is the unoffensive but comparatively weak, What's Your Name. In all fairness, even being the weakest song on the album, What's Your Name remains thoroughly enjoyable. Magdalene, is a re-working of a song by Hybrid Ice, a band that found regional success in the early eighties in their native Pennsylvania. Having heard both Hybrid Ice's original version and Boston's version I've got to say that Scholz took a good song and made it great. The Hybrid Ice version is enjoyable enough, Scholz kept the choruses but changed the verses substantially and the harmony vocals by David Sikes and Tommy Funderburk are so tight they give me chills. To this day Magdalene remains my favorite song on this album. It just sounds as if everything fell into place. I'd even go so far as to say Magdalene blows their hit Amanda out of the water. The album closes with the upbeat We Can Make It. It's an upbeat song about working together to change the world, it's the hints of a message that has crept increasingly more into Tom Scholz's lyrics in the years since.Read full review
I love Boston, always have, yet strangely had never listened to this album. There were a lot of familiar cords which were the best part, but without Brad's vocals the complete experience was lacking and ultimately was dissapointing. The replacement vocalist could have been much better and it amazed me being the perfectionist's Boston are, allowed it to happen. All in all a nice throwback, you want to hear something you have never heard before from a group you love, but after listening come away knowing that you can never go back. When Brad passed away I realized, truely realized that his voice was pheonominal and that I had taken it for granted in my younger days. This album proves his value and also proves that Boston was a true "group" which once broken, could never really attain the same musical perfection they once held.Read full review
This album is my favorite. Never recieved much if any airplay. Unfair. Walk Away is unbelievable. The songs are arranged into a theme or story. A masterpiece. They just dont make music like this anymore. Sad. This album Rocks
