I HAD TO LISTEN TO THIS TWICE TO MAKE SURE THAT I WAS NOT DREAMING WHEN I PUT ON MY HEADPHONES TO LISTEN TO THIS. THIS RECORDING WAS HAND PICKED AND RECORDED BY PROBABLY THE BIGGEST ROCK GOD HIMSELF JIMMY PAGE . THIS IS RITE UP THEIR WITH SOME OF THE BEST DISCOVERIES I HAVE SEEN, LIKE THE FINDING OF THE TITANIC. AN EARLY MASTER PIECE OF ROCK. IT IS LED ZEPPELIN AT THIER FINEST , IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION. YEAH IT'S A LITTLE RUFF AT TIMES BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THE AGE OF THE TAPES IT WAS ON. AT LEAST 45 YEARS OLD, WE ARE EXTREMELY LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE IT. This is a collection of remastered recordings taken from two 1972 Led Zeppelin concerts performed at the Los Angeles Forum and in Long Beach, CA. This is a fantastic compilation of those two concerts. Wait! Did I say fantastic, no I meant awesome, or to put it in the venacular of 1972-happening or groovy! The guitar work and the shear artistry of Led Zep really comes out on this outstanding collection compiled on 3 CDs. You won't be able to choose which CD is your favorite! You are going to love this one if you never owned or heard it before in its entirety. A few days before this Led Zep album arrived in the mail, I had just received and listened to the Stone's concert album "Get Yer ya-yas" from the same general period of time. I was bummed about the recording quality and the handful of good songs on that album. The Led Zep album was uplifting to say the least. This album makes the Stones (on that album any way) sound like the band that played at your high school prom! You will love the artistry and the recording quality! This is How the West was Won!!!! I had bought this set of cd’s several years ago but lost them during my recent move. This live Led Zeppelin concert has been one of my favorite recordings. Fortunately, I found it again at an attractive price so I bought it. A great collection of songs at a great price.

I love Led Zeppelin, they're my favorite band. I bought How the West Was Won, because I had never seen them live. When I popped it in to play, I was in awe. It was just like being at a concert. My problem is that it seems to have been mastered under the guise "louder is better" which isn't so when you're trying to blast your ears out with the stereo playing loud, just like you're at a concert. It comes out static-y (muted like?)when you try to turn it up loud. I am glad I bought it, but the sound could've been better. And it's a good cd for sitting back and listening to occasionally, but not for repeat playing ( I tried that and quickly tired of it). For repeat playing I recommend making a cd of your favorite studio recorded songs, plus I admit that sometimes Robert Plant's voice (live) gets on my nerves depending on what/how he's singing. To summarize: yes, it is a great listen and I would certainly recommend it, the sound in general is good, though a little less "loud" attitude would have benefited it and yes, it's like being at a concert. J.Page has always put more than a bit of quick thought on releasing anything from Led Zep. Past that would not be up to Par. for the bands true glory days. To wit/ In the Prime. This 3 CD collection from two Cal. Performances from `72 hits the mark. True Atomic Blues/Rock from the band when they were tight road warrior`s that no other Band could touch at that time. All the tracks are just the way you would want to hear them played live. The Band is still hungry... and eager to amaze the listener! 5 stars!!! Great selection of songs from the 1st 5 L.P.`s played w/fire!!!
