In his heyday, Leon Russell was outlandish and wild as they came. His jazzy, blues style rock and roll and his crazy personality combined to make him as hard a rocker as there was at the time. Then came Hank Wilson's Back. It's my understanding he cut this album in a home studio. He took some of the great western swing songs around from the previous decades and added that Leon zip to them. Even if you're not a country fan, you have to love this cross-over classic from the 1970's. It is definately one of the timeless fun albums ever made.
Leon plays a lot of good old country songs from different artists and pulls it off very well. He did three of them and this was the first one I bought, so it has a special place in my heart. I recommend it and I believe you will enjoy it immensely, especially if you appreciate "old" country music. Thanks
