Not their best but every BOC album has great tracks! The follow up to this was The Curse of the Hidden Mirror which is VASTLY UNDERATED. For collectors this is still a Must have and the track Harvest Moon is reason enough to own this!

Having heard four of these songs several times, seeing the band at smaller venues across New York, LONG before the CD was released, I knew it was going to be good. I wasn't disappointed. The Eric Bloom songs are a little harder and more straight-forward rock than I was used to, but they balance and blend beautifully with the more gothic and cerebral works by Buck Dharma on this one. This CD was a long time coming, and following up the fantastic work of "Imaginos" was a daunting task I'm sure.
Being a huge Blue Oyster Cult fan and having already listened to all their records, i believe that Heaven Forbid is probably the most underatted one. First of all, this is not a one hit album, but it is the kind of record that you listen without skipping any of the songs, which is the main reason i was looking to buy it! Also, the prodution is excelent as the CD is packed with a sound of great clarity and feel, and the band itself...well, Rocks!!! Moreover, the lyrics can be often very emotional like "Live For Me" and other times very aggresive like "Keep The Hammer Back". All in all, it is a great record, which in my opinion, should had gotten more attention from the media and the fans.
not many fans have heard this one and has great songs like harvest moon and live for me, make it worth buying alone...band should be in hall of fame!

Heaven Forbid - Was noticably off the music and harmonic genre of BOC. One of my favorite groups, but this one needs a pass. These guys are genius, but the songs were dirges and single voice vocals missed the mark of haunting or alternative blues that the groups can do. I didn't find any riffs or extended music to enjoy. I will still buy anything new from this group, in the hopes of some of their former glory.
