Manufacturers have a number of producers of their spare parts and each will vary in design, but not specification. Our dyson on was pulsing on and off despite regular cleaning of the filter. So after watching a video concerning the problem on U tube (and making sure no other part of the cordless dc8 was blocked I bought a new filter. Immediately the difference was noticed and the vacuum seemed rejuvenated. Out of interest I cut open the old filter and found the inside was compacted with three years of fur from our long haired cat !

    This is a really easy fix to bring you cordless Dyson back to like new. No amount of washing the old filter could improve the suction even though it looked clean. This new filter is genuine Dyson and well worth buying.
