The metal lid is a bit flimsy and it doesn't work well unless both barrels are quite heavy with contents. I use it to tumble coins and it's not so great unless I do two big batches. I wish a rock tumbler companies would make a quick release top too.

The construction and operation are straight forward and easy to follow. The steel frame, spare belts, and drive mechanisms should result is much reliable operation. Flaws; Rubber lining on the rods does not cover the full length of the tumbler barrels resulting in push to the ends, The thumb knobs that seal the chambers rub on the metal chassis. By the second week of operation there is plastic and rubber all over the floor. Stones are getting polished! and all parts should be easily replaceable.

Works well and I have had it running for several weeks now. DO use oil for smooth operation but do NOT use anything but the plastic pellets as the "grit" stuff is really messy, except for polishing. I prefer smoothed off edges but with character and learned the hard way that the grit stains everything from my hands to the sink. I thought I needed it, but the pellets work just fine and aren't messy.

Got this for my son and tried too use both containers at once like you should be able to do. The clearance was so tight that it squeaked with a high pitch and would stop itself from spinning. Can only run one container at a time. Cheap Chinese junk!

Good idea to underfill just a bit. Also a very tight fit, the "bumper/guides" at each end don't line up the best. But it basically does the job. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
